What parts are required to do the "big brake upgrade" on a 1979-1991 crown victoria?
What parts are required to do the "big brake upgrade" on a 1992-1994 crown victoria?

The same parts as for doing the big brake upgrade on a 1979-1991 crown victoria except you already have the 1992-1994 upper control arms factory installed on your car. And you will also need to acquire a 1995-2002 front sway bar with appropriate frame insulators and 1995-2002 endlinks.

What parts are required to do the "big brake upgrade" on a 1995-1997 crown victoria?

Doing the "big brake upgrade" on a 1995-1997 crown vic is much easier than on earlier vehicles as you already have the upper control arms,  upper balljoints, steering knuckles, and lower balljoints that you need factory installed on your car. For 95-97 crown vics, you need:
I own a 1979-1997 grand marquis. What parts are required to do the "big brake upgrade" on my car?

The same parts that would be required to do the big brake upgrade on the same model year of crown victoria.

I own a 1979-1997 lincoln town car. What parts are required to do the "big brake upgrade" on my car?

The same parts that would be required to do the big brake upgrade on the same model year of crown victoria (except if you have a 1991 towncar)

I own a 1991 lincoln town car and want to upgrade the to the "big brakes". What parts are needed?

The front suspension setup in your 1991 lincoln towncar is the same as a 1992 ford crown victoria. You will need all of the "big brake upgrade" parts listed above for 1992 crown victorias.

My parts supplier is asking whether I have antilock brakes (abs) when I ask for a front drivers side 1998 brake hose. Why is this?

The metal brake lines are run differently on crownvics with abs than on crownvics without abs. On cars without abs, the master cylinder feeds directly to the front drivers side brake hose, the brass portion of the hose assembly then has a fluid output port which feeds the metal line that goes to the front passenger side brake hose. On cars with abs, the hydraulic control unit feeds each brake caliper individually via a seperate metal line. If you are upgrading a 1979-1991 "box body" crown vic, you'll want the hose for a 1998 crown vic with antilock brakes even though antilock brakes were never avaliable on those cars.

I'm a casual backyard mechanic and this list looks very intimidating and i don't know what many of the words above mean. I want better stopping power, but how can I get the big brake upgrade done on my car?

This project is not for you. Sell your crown victoria to someone else and visit your local ford dealer to purchase a complete pre-owned 1998-2002 crown victoria car. Incorrectly doing the above upgrade could result in serious injury or death.

The above upgrade is only intended for people which have lots of "hands on" diagnostic knowledge about a wide variety of car front end steering and suspension setups.
